Oluwatoyin Alake

Oluwatoyin Alake is an investment specialist, with a passion to facilitate wealth creation, financial inclusion and capital markets development across the African continent ultimately to build a poverty free Africa.  Her research interest and works has contributed to putting a spotlight on African Securities Markets towards development of a robust and sustainable primary and secondary market.  She is also an advocate for establishing incentives targeted at small and medium scale enterprises (SME) capital raising activities in Stock Markets as well as the development of the private equity industry as a means of attracting finance to fund innovations for expansion of industries and infrastructural development in Africa.

Her experience has helped her garner knowledge of capital and money markets structure and instruments as she undertook roles in portfolio management, product development and financial strategy thus contributing to achieving corporate goals whilst consistently demonstrating a drive to exceed expectations. She has applied in-depth knowledge of local markets, financial instrument and portfolio diversification in managing investments, creating wealth solutions as well as building markets microstructure. Her flair for finance and investment has also led her to her nomination as facilitator in a number of capital markets training classes to build the next generation of investment professionals as well as serving as Exchanges work group member for capital markets development committees in Nigeria.

At the Nigerian Stock Exchange where she currently works, her mandate is to improve the depth of the Nigerian Securities Market through creation of investment vehicles as well as facilitation of efficient pricing, transparency and liquidity of secondary capital market.

She graduated as ivy Bachelors’ Degree in Finance holder from the University of Lagos also holds a Masters’ degree with Distinction in Investments from the University of Birmingham. United Kingdom. A Member of Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) UK, Oluwatoyin also holds a Diploma from the same institute. She is currently studying towards the Chartered Financial Institute (CFA) qualification.

Oluwatoyin is critical thinker with good head for solving tactical and strategic issues affecting business and investments globally and serves on the Advisory Board of EdgeEdwards.
